An 8 page paper. On October 26, 2001, President Bush signed into law the Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism (USA PATRIOT ACT) Act of 2001. This is a controversial Act that continues to be debated. This essay explains some of the many provisions included in the PATRIOT Act. The writer also comments on the controversy surrounding this Act. The writer also supports the new Act and argues that laws must be enforced and that different official agencies need to have the tools they need to do their job, which is to protect the country.
